Catherine House by Elisabeth Thomas

I have no idea what I just read. Strange doesn’t even begin to cover it. The only think positive is the style of writing because the story itself… I don’t even know how to describe it.

I have no idea what happened in this book. The story has no plot, all the questions about the house and what happens there are left unanswered.

Nothing happens apart from inner monologues and interaction between characters who are weird in different levels. I couldn’t connect with them or understand them. They felt like very confused, lost, living in a daze and suffering from disassociation throughout the novel and it doesn’t get better. I didn’t understand the point of creating this type of behaviour when it really doesn’t go anywhere or doesn’t contribute to the story.

A disappointing read.
