Cosy Mystery

Crime and Poetry (A Magical Bookshop Mystery #1) by Amanda Flower

This book was absolutely amazing, I couldn’t put it down. When I saw it at the bookstore the cover immediately got my attention (it’s beautifully made!) and it’s like answering a calling.

As a book lover, when the setting starts with an old, enchanted bookshop, building suspense and a murder, I’m hooked. This was the first book I read from Amanda Flowers and she didn’t disappoint at all. The building-up of the plot, the wonderful characters and the descriptions are amazingly written. I fell in love with Violet, she is a wonderful character, stubborn, witty and of course, her passion for literature. Her reasons not to go back to the small town of Cascade Springs are definitely legit and I really like how the character deals with her traumatic past and the problems in the present. After I read this book, I would definitely like to have my own magical bookshop.

The mystery in the story is also very interesting, specially because it includes the historical details of the town which makes it more interesting

It’s a steady paced story with an amazing build up of suspense and the characters just make the reader love it even more.

It’s a cosy mystery book that you don’t want to miss! I can’t wait for the sequel!
